I often get asked this question by patients and my answer depends on how long ago they were seen. For treatment of varicose veins, Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy has been around for about 18 years whereas Endovenous Laser Ablation is a more recent treatment with the first case being performed at Vein Doctors Group, Gold Coast, over 7 years ago. There have been no significant new procedures for the treatment of varicose veins over the past 7 years so it is fortunate that both these procedures are so effective!
Over the past 20 years there has been no shortage of creams, lotions, potions and tablets that have been heavily promoted through Chemists and Health Food shops but they all share one thing in common – they don’t work! There is one exception in Horse Chestnut extract which I have blogged about previously.
