my legs ache a lot. I have no visible signs of varicose veins or spider veins. Does this mean I have varicose veins or a bigger problem??

If you don’t have visible veins then you don’t have varicose veins but your leg ache may be due to a deeper vein problem. The way that this can be sorted out is by having a Duplex Ultrasound examination of your legs to determine the function of the deeper
veins. This can be done at The Leg Vein Clinic.

The veins on the inside of my legs below my knees down to my ankles become very painful for no apparent cause. At times this pain is just about unbearable. Any suggestion or clue as to why this is happening? I have spoke to my doctor in regards to this
and she has no answer, nor has anything been done about it. As time goes on it continues to get worse.

Hi Kimber, It is uncommon for veins to give any significant pain. It is usually an ache that is quickly relieved by elevating the legs. I wonder if you are getting episodes of phlebitis (inflamation of the veins). Without exmining you it is difficult to
    be more specific.

Hi good site for info on veins. Is there a better time of year for getting treatments? Is it hard to get a Winter appointment? Thinking you are probably busy this time of year?

Hi Sara, Thanks for your email. The stockoings that we use are very lightweight so i do treat people all year round but for the deeper veins it is better to have it done in the cooler months if possible if you don’t live and work in air conditioning. If
you do it doesn’t matter what time of the year you are treated. I am extremely busy all the time and even more so during winter however gaps do appear in the appointment book soo if you want a consultation I suggest you ring the clinic 55381133 and ask to
speak to diana who seems to be able to squeeze people in.
